Gathering Together: Food, Music, and Brotherhood
On August 15, 2026, Valley-Daylight Lodge and River City Lodge came together to host a day filled with fun, fellowship, and well‑earned recognition. Guests enjoyed an outstanding meal featuring smoked brisket, pulled pork, smoked bologna, macaroni and cheese, green beans, potato salad, pasta salad, desserts, and more. We welcomed our widows, their families, and friends to share in the celebration, enjoy a wonderful meal, and listen to the Aroura Boys as they filled the aftern

THE TRAVELING MAN
THE TRAVELING MAN One of the greatest things a Mason can do for his own growth is leave the comfort of his home Lodge and become a Traveling Man. Not because there is anything wrong with his own Lodge. But because Freemasonry is far bigger than any single Lodge, building, district, jurisdiction, or country. Every Lodge has its own culture. Its own traditions. Its own strengths. Its own lessons. When we travel, we discover that the Brotherhood is much larger than the four wall

The wisest Mason is not the one who has all the answers.
The wisest Mason is not the one who has all the answers. He is the one who never stops asking better questions. Freemasonry was never intended to create men who simply accept tradition without thought. It was designed to create men who examine themselves, challenge their assumptions, and pursue truth with humility. A Brother who believes he has nothing left to learn has already stopped building. Every degree… Every lecture… Every conversation in the festive board… Every diffi

Colonel Sanders
Cornel Harland Sanders, the founder of KFC, was a prominent member of the Masonic Order. He joined Freemasonry in 1917 in Indiana, and later continued his work in Kentucky. He received the 33rd degree of the Scottish Order, which is an honorary recognition for many years of service and contribution. His connection with the Masonic fraternity and the Shriners was so significant that Masonic symbols are on his tombstone, and the Masonic badge was part of his distinctive white s

This Week in Masonic History
This Week in Masonic History ⚒July 4, 1776 – Freemasons & The Declaration of Independence⚒ On July 4, 1776, fifty-six men put their names to one of the most influential documents ever written—the Declaration of Independence. It wasn't simply a declaration of separation from Britain. It was a declaration of an idea. That governments exist to serve the people. That every person possesses inherent rights. That liberty, justice, and human dignity are worth defending. Among those

A piece of Masonic history
Did You Know? — Masonic Island Hidden among the waters of North Dakota’s Lake Metigoshe in the Turtle Mountains rests a unique piece of Masonic history known as Masonic Island a place where the principles of our fraternity were literally brought into the outdoors. Originally known as Park Island, the site became connected to Freemasonry in the early 1900s through Brother V.B. Noble of Tuscan Lodge #44. Beginning in 1906, Masons gathered there to hold outdoor degree work and M

Strength from within
Most men stand tall when it’s easy. When the room is watching. When there’s something to gain. When the applause is guaranteed. But that’s not where a man is tested. It’s right here. 👉 When doing the right thing costs you. 👉 When no one would ever know if you didn’t. 👉 When it would be easier to stay quiet… and look the other way. That’s where most people fold. And that’s where a Mason is supposed to stand. Not for recognition. Not for reward. But because it’s right. 🔨 In

Inspiration
I was never built to follow blindly. And if you’re honest, Brother… neither were you. Freemasonry doesn’t ask for blind faith. It asks you to think. To question. To wrestle with truth until it becomes your own. Because this life? It doesn’t hand out clean endings. There’s no guarantee the right path is the easy one. No promise that doing good protects you from hardship. No assurance that effort always leads to reward. We know that. 🔨 That’s why we’re given working tools… not

Explaining a piece of the compass
🔨 Why Does the Compass Open to 60 Degrees? ⚖️ Ever notice that, Brother? That opening… it’s not random. At 60 degrees, the Compasses form the angles of an equilateral triangle— one of the oldest symbols of balance, perfection, and the Divine. But let’s not overcomplicate it. This isn’t about geometry for the sake of geometry. It’s about how you live. — In the Craft, the Square keeps your actions in check— your behavior… your integrity… your dealings with other men. But the C

Building the temple not made with hands
The Temple Not Built by Hands 🔨 We spend our days building things we can see. Walls. Decks. Businesses. A life for our families. We know what it means to work with our hands… to take something raw and shape it into something useful. But Freemasonry reminds us— The most important thing we’ll ever build… can’t be touched. There is a Temple. Not made of stone. Not measured by square footage. Not standing on any map. It’s built within you. Every time you choose patience over ang

On this day
📜 This Day in Masonic History April 30, 1789 🇺🇸 Today marks a moment where history, leadership, and Freemasonry all stood on the same level. On this day in 1789, George Washington took the oath of office as the first President of the United States. But here’s the part many don’t realize… He was sworn in on a Bible belonging to St. John’s Lodge No. 1 of New York 📖🔨 And the man who administered that oath? Robert Livingston—not only a statesman… but the first Grand Master o

Freemasonry
Freemasonry isn’t about pretending to be a good man. It’s about becoming one. And that work… doesn’t happen in the light alone. It happens in the parts of yourself most men would rather ignore. We all carry it. The temper. The ego. The pride. The urge to dominate, react, or tear down instead of build. That’s the rough ashlar. And here’s the truth most don’t want to hear: Ignoring it doesn’t make you virtuous. It makes you unaware. A man who has never faced his own darkness is

Every man
Every man lives by a code… whether he realizes it or not. Freemasonry simply asks a deeper question: Is your code building you… or breaking you? Because in this Craft, we’re not just handed words— we’re expected to live them. 1. Integrity isn’t a slogan. It’s doing the right thing when no one in the Lodge… or the world… is watching. 2. Your word? It’s not casual. A Mason’s word is meant to carry weight—spoken carefully, kept faithfully. 3. Accountability? That’s where growth

Great Day of service April 25th 2026
Had the opportunity to do some landscaping around the Sam Swope Masonic homes . Great fellowship. It is amazing to work with a group of brothers who best work and best agrees to take a project. We were given the opportunity to visit with Brother Charles Tripplet and the homes . Br. Tripplet is an Air Force veteran. He has dedicated himself to the craft since 1957 . He is as raised on June 29 1957 making him a 69 year member at Valley/Daylight.

Where you came from...
Freemasonry isn’t about where you came from… It’s about who you choose to become. In our Lodges you’ll find men from every walk of life— tradesmen, business owners, professionals, labourers… Men who build with their hands. Men who build with their minds. But titles don’t matter here. On the level— we meet as Brothers. Bound not by status… but by shared values. A commitment to family. To self-improvement. To showing up for others when it matters most. That’s what makes this Cr
